Introduction to Sailing

Thinking about getting into sailing?  Or looking to enjoy a day sail along the Vancouver coast?  Looking for a short refresher, such as on docking?

Either come aboard Capt. Mac’s custom 42′ sloop or provide your own.  Capt. Mac is a master sailor and introduce you to all kinds of hidden areas along the BC coast.

Experience the feeling of freedom and relaxation that comes during a sailing charter in Vancouver BC while cruising the protected waters of British Columbia. Watch eagles soar overhead while seals, porpoises, orcas and other marine life are abundant as we sail in their natural habitat.

Explore the scenic waterways from the deck of the beautiful Kinohi, then relax and enjoy west coast seafood and the ever-changing view from a new anchorage or quaint marina for the evening.

Comb the beaches and hike the trails of the many provincial marine parks or stroll through an island town or village that reveals the interesting history that gives the names and colour to this wondrous region.

World cruising at its best with numerous islands surrounded by spectacular mountain peaks. Our moderate winds and calm seas make sailing enjoyable, while the myriad of islands, narrow passes, tides and currents provide a challenge to both novice and experienced sailors alike.

From our Vancouver, B.C. base, we are a short distance to the Sunshine Coast, Gulf islands or Desolation Sound, providing fantastic cruising grounds with something for everyone.

Carribean Charters

Capt. Mac will be offering luxury skippered catamaran charters again this Winter in the Caribbean. Since 1997 he has sailed the Caribbean and enjoyed a sailor’s paradise. With the Capt’n’s many years of sailing these waters you will see and experience many things that most vacationers will miss when cruising on their own.

What you will experience:

Board your luxurious sailing yacht in Tortola, British Virgin Islands to sail, snorkel and dive while exploring an island paradise. The islands themselves are hilly, dotted with picturesque villages, markets and harbours. The average air temperature is a comfortable 87 degrees, with winds ranging from 10 to 25 knots making sailing conditions ideal.

Ten-day cruises will be the plan, so phone or e-mail for information on costs and dates.

Powerboating

Capt. Mac also offers powerboating day trips  on your boat – much like the day sails above.  Enjoy the natural beauty all along our coast and see places you didn’t know about.

Capt. Mac also provides private instruction for powerboaters.  For example, you may want to brush up on your docking skills.
